Meet Dr. Clark
I’m a licensed psychologist with 20 years of clinical experience, including extensive work in health psychology and with individuals navigating the intersection of physical health and psychological well-being. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with people facing chronic illness, pain, disability, and significant changes in their health and physical functioning.
Throughout my career, I’ve been continually struck by the
resilience people show
as they adapt to changes they never expected and
find new ways to move forward.
My interest in this work is also personal. My own health journey has given me a deeper understanding of what it can feel like when your health changes and you lose trust in your body. It has also shaped my understanding of how deeply health can affect your identity, relationships, and the life you imagined for yourself.
A More Personal Approach to Care
One of the things I value most about having my own practice is the opportunity
to be intentional about how I provide care.
I deliberately maintain a smaller caseload so I can give each person the time, attention, and thoughtful consideration they deserve. I want to have the space to be fully present during our sessions, reflect on our work together, and remain genuinely engaged in your progress.
I also recognize that navigating chronic illness, pain, and changes in physical health doesn't always follow a predictable schedule. Symptoms fluctuate, circumstances change, and what you need from therapy may look different from one week to the next. Having a smaller practice allows me to offer a more personal, flexible approach while remaining attentive to your individual needs and goals.
For me, therapy is not about moving through a predetermined set of interventions or fitting everyone into the same treatment model. It's about developing a meaningful therapeutic relationship, understanding the complexities of your experience, and thoughtfully integrating evidence-based approaches in ways that make sense for you.
As a solo practitioner, I also value direct communication and connection.
When you reach out to Waypoint, you're reaching out to me - not navigating a large practice or multiple layers of administration.
